CODA Recording Studio is a full service facility providing professional quality recording and other related audio services at very attractive rates. The owner, Kim Lantz, an electronics and computer technician for over thirty years is also a multi-instrumentalist and has been involved in the local music scene for years. His background in both technology and music has been fundamental to the success of CODA Recording Studio. With Kim, CODA Recording is not so much a business as it is a passion - a passion to make great music, which is reflected in our rates - as little as $45.00 per hour CDN, plus HST (Note: a minimum charge may apply).
Studio construction is based on industry standard dimensions and construction practices. All recording spaces are essentially rooms inside a room, giving maximum isolation. They are built to a precise ratio of height, width and length for the best possible sound. The main control room and isolation room feature fully floating floors using an advanced product by Owens-Corning with acoustical treatment by RPG and Auralex and Primacoustic, three of the most respected names in acoustics. Not only do our rooms sound great, they look great too. This is all new construction, built specifically for the job.

Superiorsound starts with a great microphone. That's why we use microphones by Neumann, Gefell, AKG, Royer, Peluso, Shure and Rode. Next comes world class preamplifiers by such names as Avalon, Millennia, Grace, Benchmark and George Massenberg. Mixdown is thru a Neve 8816 16 channel summing mixer with digital option, paired with an SSL G Series Master Stereo Bus compressor - two major sections from the two biggest names in large format consoles - it just doesn't get any better. For all you analog tape fans we have an immaculate Studer A-80, 1/2" 4 track tape deck, Revox PR99-mkII 1/4" 2 track and Revox B215 Cassette deck. Analog to digital and digital to analog conversion is by Apogee, a world leader in this technology. We also have a Hammond XK3 organ and a Baldwin 6' 3" Grand Piano, one of the finest pianos on the Island, which are all available for your use. Add to this the best in PC based recording and you have an unbeatable combination.
